Akeem Joffer (Eddie Murphy)/Katie (Katie Woods), the prince/princess and heir to the throne of the fictitious African country Zamunda/Australia, is discontented with being pampered all his/her life. The final straw is when his/her parents (James Earl Jones/Mr. Woods and Madge Sinclair/Mrs. Woods) present him/her with a bride/husband-to-be he/she has never met before, trained to mindlessly obey his/her every command.
Akeem/Katie concocts a plan to travel to America to find a wife/husband he/she can both love and respect and who accepts him/her for his/her personality, not his/her status.
What will happen next? Only time will tell…
But really… I’m a nineteen year old University student who decided to go on exchange for a semester. I’m from Brisbane, Australia and I’m spending a semester at Ithaca College in upstate New York. I’m quite excited to be documenting my time here as I already have some pretty special memories and it will also be a great way to keep all of you updated!
The journey so far has been epic and there are plenty of tales for me to tell, so strap yourself in because this blog will be like Pringles, once you pop you can’t stop.
